TOUR #1 – Lake Sunapee Lunch Cruise

We are off to beautiful Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire. We have chartered the MV Lake Queen for a two-hour luncheon cruise that is narrated by the captain, who is extremely knowledgeable about the history and lore of Lake Sunapee and surrounding area.

The MV Lake Queen features two decks of enclosed dining with white linens, flatware, and air conditioning (as needed). There is an open-air walkway around the top deck where you can relax and sip cocktails from the cash bar.

A delicious buffet lunch will be served, including baked-stuffed chicken breast, vegetable lasagna, garden salad, rolls, scalloped potatoes, native vegetables, and a selection of gourmet cakes. Lunch will be served as you learn about the sites and history of the lake and take in the beautiful New Hampshire scenery. If the weather is bad, we will be dining dockside, while still hearing about the legend and lore of the region.

You’ll see the magnificent homes that have sprung up around the lake as well as the historic sights of yesteryear. A highlight for many are the three historic, and still operating, lighthouses. While cruising the lake, you will be afforded a unique viewpoint of the beautiful area, as well as unimpeded views of local mountains, Kearsarge and Sunapee. On clear days you can see all the way to Vermont’s Mount Ascutney.

On our way back, we’ll stop at The Velvet Mousse Ice Cream shoppe in Warner, NH.

Handicap Accessibility: The lower deck where lunch will be served is handicap accessible. Access to the top deck by staircase is not handicap accessible.

Departure: Newington 9:00 AM and Durham 9:15 AM

Approximate return: Durham 6:15 PM and Newington 6:30 PM
