About the Event

Theodore Roosevelt was an accidental president, but he was also a committed conservationist with a goal of expanding protected landscapes.  In this illustrated lecture Professor Kurk Dorsey of the UNH History Department will dig into Roosevelt’s efforts to expand the national forests, create new national parks, and even launch a new idea – wildlife refuges. Roosevelt tested boundaries, both in politics and in defining public lands.
