The Panama Canal was opened in 1914 and was considered the greatest engineering feat of all times. Since the early 1500’s, when Spanish mule trains loaded with Inca gold crossed the isthmus, this ‘Path Between the Seas’ had been a dream. In addition to speaking about cruising through the canal, David Maloney* will discuss the creation of the canal, its transfer to the Panamanians, and the challenges that climate change is having on its current and future operations.
