ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION KICKS OFF
2026-27 SEASON WITH A FREE PICNIC!
The Active Retirement Association (ARA) is excited to kick off its wide-ranging 2026-27 program season with a FREE picnic on Monday, September 14, 2026, at noon at Stratham Hill Park, 270 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH. A light lunch of sandwiches, chips, desserts, and bottled water will be provided. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be available; sorry, no gluten free. Donations of a dessert to share will be gratefully accepted. This FREE event is open to the public so please come and invite a friend or two - adults only, please.
The picnic will take place rain or shine, and you are encouraged to bring a folding chair for your comfort. The ADA-compliant park has a pavilion to help protect against the elements. Play a game of cornhole — bring your hiking gear if you’d like to participate in a hike on the park’s trails. Information about ARA membership benefits and a preview of upcoming activities will be available, as well as the opportunity to socialize with current and prospective members.
The ARA is an organization for people ages 50 and over, whether retired or not. Originally begun by and affiliated with UNH, it has over 350 members from New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, and beyond. The ARA is committed to expanding the world of its members by offering lectures, workshops, discussion groups, films, cultural tours, walks/hikes, on-demand member interest groups, and much more.
